Dollar Store Baby
The United States has experienced a small baby boom in recent years, according to the National Center of Health Statistics, making baby items more in demand than ever. In fact, in 2018, about 4.3 million babies were born--the highest number since 1961. This makes items like infant toys, clothing, and gifts excellent products for dollar stores and other wholesale retailers.
Onesies: Necessary Baby Items
One of the most popular baby items is the onesie. This short-sleeved cotton undergarment goes directly over the diaper and closes around the shoulders and between the legs with snaps. This makes it easy to dress an infant and change her diaper regularly without moving her around too much. Onesies are available in solid colors, such as white, baby blue and pink, as well as in patterns and cheerful prints.
Since infants outgrow their clothes so quickly and get dirty so easily, most new parents need an immense stock of onesies on hand. They are generally sized by age, such as zero to three months, three to six months, etc.
Onesies are also very popular items to have on hand for baby showers. These inexpensive cotton items can be passed around to guests, along with paint, glitter, and other baby-safe decorative touches, personalized with slogans like Daddy's Girl or Dingo Bait, and presented as gifts to the new mother.
