HEGINS — Residents of the Hegins Valley soon won’t need to travel outside the
area to purchase last-minute gifts for a party or other items.
By next spring, Midway Supermarket will have a new neighbor. A Family Dollar
store is expected to be completed by then.
The land is owned by Cocca Development, Boardman, Ohio, which purchased it from
James W. Fetterhoff, owner and general manager of Midway Supermarket.
“People refer to this as the Midway dollar store and that’s fine if that’s what
they want to call it,” said Fetterhoff. “But I really don’t own it. I sold the
land to Cocca Development for the purpose of erecting a dollar store.”
According to Jim Shipley, a member of the real estate team for Cocca
Development, the store will offer 10 to 15 jobs.
“I’m happy that I was able to provide land for this company to come in and do
this project,” said Fetterhoff. “I think this is something that the community
needs.”
